Floor
monitors always seem to be the weakest link in everybody’s system. Often
trashy, awful sounding and week. This may work for a band that never leaves
the garage but for serious performance and sound quality, many features and
qualities must be inherent. First and foremost, this is a pro venue monitor,
you won't find anything with more power handling, better sound quality or
more durability than the M2-15F.
3/4” 13ply Birch construction with serious front panel bracing is one major
factor. The M2-15F is braced internally and across the front so a musician
can get crazy and stand on it without caving it in. Proper base and angle
are a major design factor where this cabinet is solid in its floor monitor
position and pointing at the musicians rather than to the sky or the back
wall. It's built like a tank, it's Bi-Amp able and it sounds like a million
bucks.
The M2-15F is loaded with truly professional drivers consisting of a woofer
with a 4” copper clad aluminum voice coil, 100oz. magnet and cast aluminum
basket. A titanium horn driver is used that has a 2” diaphragm and 30oz.
magnet. A custom 12/18db per octave high power crossover is used that
includes dual glass bulb tweeter protection. The M2-15F is a dual design
cabinet where it can stand up and be used as a main PA speaker or lay down
as a floor monitor. A steel tripod mount is included so it can be stand
mounted. Crisp and clear highs that can cut through the crowd and bottom end
that can handle any amount of power and abuse you choose to subject it to.
Standard features include: water proof vinyl covering, steel hardware and a
jack plate with dual ¼” locking and air sealed connectors as well as dual
speakon connectors all wired in parallel so daisy chaining to other speakers
or monitors is possible.
