DESCRIPTION
With so many 412 guitar cabinets on the market today,
one might ask, “what makes yours any different from another”. The Madison D2
cabinet is constructed just slightly oversized vs. most others out there.
This gives the drivers more room to breath and thus increases the thickness
of the over all tone.
When it comes
to the D2 series cabinets the most important factor is that they are made in
the USA in the Madison cabinet shop by professionals that have been making
guitar, bass and PA cabinets for 2 decades for not only ourselves but for
other amplifier manufacturers as well. Most 412 cabinets have the drivers
mounted on the inside of the cabinet. This is done for one main reason (so
they can size down the cabinet for cheaper shipping). Mounting the drivers
on the outside of the baffle board you gain a more broad display of sound
and again, more internal air space.
The D2 cabinet is available in 3 models:
-
D2-V ---
Celestion Vintage 30
These are by far the most popular guitar speaker in the world today. Vintage
30 speakers present amazingly thick, rich and defined tone. Great bottom end
and they can handle massive abuse. If you like your mids, you'll love the
Vintage 30 speakers.
-
D2-H ---
Celestion Hybrid Vintage 30 and Seventy 80
This cabinet combines Celestion speakers in a cross pattern, giving you a
little of both worlds. The sizzling highs and deep response of the Seventy
80 speakers and the mid definition of the Vintage 30's.
-
D2-S ---
Celestion Seventy 80
This Celestion speaker is what they consider to be the little brother to the
G12T-75. In all reality maybe it should be the other way around since the
70/80 handles more power. In either case, the 70/80 sounds just like the
G12T-75, giving you nice high frequencies and good bottom end with just a
crack of relaxation on the mid frequencies.
