Madison Abraxas---1200 watt Tube / Solid State Bass Amplifier |
|
Can it handle a 2ohm load???? Yes it can, we don't spec it as such but it will run that ohm load with the proper venting. It has been tested to survive that abuse long term but we don't recommend it.

DESCRIPTION The Abraxas bass amp is an absolute power house. It holds the key to monstrous amounts of juice. So you might be saying, "1200 watts doesn't seem like THAT much". The truth is this: it's all in how a manufacturer wants to spin it to sell they're design. A standard power supply amplifier can easily be measured by it's weight in our opinion. Not that you want to use a large transformer for no reason at all. However, you do want to use the proper size transformer to juice up the amplifier's circuit design so that it can and WILL produce the power it is rated at in reality. Go ahead, pit the Abraxas 1200 watt amp against another 1200 watt that may be cheaper in price. You'll quickly find out that they're 1200 watts isn't the same as Madison's 1200 watts. This amp weighs 60 LBS for a reason. The Abraxas gives you the ability to find the exact toner your looking for. With it's 6 band parametric EQ, it's easy to dial in and sweeps the entire frequency spectrum. It has all the bells and whistles any bass player could ask for. Things like XLR Direct out with pre / post switch and level control, 1/4" line out so you can slave to another power amplifier, effects loop with on/off switch and level control, Footswitch input so you can kick the effects loop on and off, Tuner input, Tuner mute, passive/active inputs, tube or solid state input mode, distortion ability and twin 1/4" and speakon speaker outputs. The Abraxas has an extra little ability few other bass amps possess naturally. The ability to clip (distort) if so desired. Simply crank the gain and use your master to control the volume and in either tube or solid state mode, distortion like that of lets so ACDC can be had. Run the amp with the gain in the middle and it doesn't mater how hard you hit on the master, it will stay clear as a bell. |
