MercyKill is a five-piece, all original, extreme metal band based out of Indianapolis, IN consisting of Jake Corbin on Vocals; Scott Bronner on Lead/Rhythm Guitar; Jeremy Varao on Lead/Rhythm
Guitar; Larry Langley on Bass; and Sean Young on Drums. In April 2006, MercyKill released their debut CD
entitled Throw the Switch. All writing, recording and pre/post production for Throw the Switch was conducted by the band itself, with engineering
and mixing done by founding member Scott Bronner, and packaging creative designed by Jeremy Varao. Colin Davis of the CA death metal act
Vile mastered the album.
Throw the Switch is now available for sale in all 50 states, around the world, and is now available on iTunes®. MercyKill has been heard kickin’ ass in Cincinnati & Columbus OH; Las Vegas, NV; Chicago, IL; and Mesa & Phoenix, AZ. Currently, MercyKill continues to expand its fan-base with performances throughout their home state of Indiana, and has plans for an East Coast tour in the works for April/May 2007.
Throw the Switch has received numerous positive reviews. www.indymusicscene.com raves “From intricate melody runs to half-time breakdowns, Throw the Switch is a clear-case example of how a death metal recording should sound – crisp, solid, tight
and to the point. The musicality holds the precision and steadiness of a machine, while the songs themselves revolve around an axis of natural and fluid evolution.” Internationally circulated, Pit Magazine (Issue #56), insists “A sonic assault of blasting spite, flavored with the delectable taste of old-school thrash/hardcore. Throw The Switch is one of the meanest discs I’ve heard in quite some time ... MercyKill is what metal is supposed to be, pissed off, in-your-face and rooted deep enough in the underground that you have to dig in the PIT to find it.” ’Nuff said!
MercyKill has had the honor of sharing the stage with such notable acts as Demiricous (Metal Blade), Year of Desolation (Prosthetic Records), Daath
(Roadrunner Records), Forever in Terror (Metal Blade), Meliah Rage (Screaming Ferret) and Metal Church (SPV Records).
With its first release and cross-country tour under their belts, MercyKill has refocused
its hard-driving energy with band members writing tracks for their soon-to-be-released full-length
album and constant self-promotion and live shows.
